There has been an increase in the number of unregistered individuals offering to write a will for cash over the past two decades, one expert has claimed.
Brian McMillan, director general of the Society of Will Writers, noted that too many people view will writers as a credible means of getting their affairs in order.
"The problem seems to be that when a rogue company enters will writing they do so in a big way, recruiting consultants on a national basis," he explained.
Mr McMillan highlighted that this makes the problem appear more widespread, whereas in reality there may just be one person behind it.
