People throughout the UK are changing their wills in order to fund their everyday living expenses, a new survey has found.
More than 3.5 million individuals have opted to change their last will and testament so they can sell off items that would have been left to loved ones, Engage Mutual revealed.
Other reasons for the changes were cited as family fall-outs, changes of residence and even new additions being made to their family units.
Karl Elliott of Engage Mutual commented: "Wills are an important part of life planning and are there to ensure that your wishes are carried out when you die."
He emphasised that writing a will can often be a complex process, especially when various issues arise throughout life that may mean it has to be changed.
Earlier this year, the BBC aired a programme called Can't Take it With You in a bid to show people how crucial it is to write a will.
