Italian restaurateur's divorce to be reviewed
A divorce settlement between a multi-millionairess and an Italian restaurateur is to be reviewed at the High Court in London.
Francesco Traversa was married to Carla Freddi for 20 years and despite having significantly fewer assets than his wife, was ordered to leave his home when they separated in 2008.
Ms Freddi also sought child maintenance from her former husband amounting to £57,000 following their split.
A prenuptial agreement
had been drawn up, stating that their personal assets would be separated if the couple were ever to divorce.
He's very pleased that he’s been given permission to bring the case forward, but of course he's got a long way to go," Mr Traversa's lawyer, Frank Feehan, said in a phone interview with Bloomberg.
Official statistics show that in 2008, the latest year for which data is available, divorces in England and Wales hit a 29-year low.
