Over 50s not getting enough sex or money
A quarter of people over 50 say a poor sex life is the main reason behind their divorce, according to a new survey.
Saga Legal Services has found in its poll of more than 1,900 people that the reasons for breaking up can be the same across generations.
Around 27 per cent blamed their partner's 'lack of commitment', while 28 per cent said they were too cold and distant.
Sadly, one in ten said they had run out of things to talk about with each other.
However, the biggest problem cited was keeping and maintaining the home.
One in three (33 per cent) found this to a major stress – in total, more than half of the triggers were related to financial issues.
Commenting on the research, Saga's director-general Ros Altmann said: "Perhaps once the children have grown up and flown the nest, couples are addressing the failings in their relationship and embracing a second lease of life."
