Cheryl to keep married name post-divorce

Singer Cheryl Cole has decided to keep her married name after she divorces from footballer husband Ashley.

Rumours have been circulating that the 27-year-old will change her name by deed poll back to Tweedy ever since news of the separation broke.

But the Sun newspaper reports that since she has enjoyed most of her success under the Cole moniker, Cheryl won't be switching it.

"She's established in Europe," a source told the publication. "Going back to her maiden name Tweedy would be confusing.

"It also shows she is bigger than Ashley and prepared to be grown up about a difficult time in her life."

The Sun claims the star's passport is still in her maiden name, as she renewed it for ten years when she began touring with Girls Aloud, before she got married.

Earlier this month, it was reported that Cheryl's divorce would be finalised within the coming weeks.
