Divorce reappraisal bid thrown out
An attempt to re-negotiate a divorce settlement by a City fund manager in the court of appeal has been rejected.
Bryan Myerson had been attempting to lower the amount he had to pay to his ex-wife based on his income, as this had been linked to the value shares that have fallen following the original case due to the economic crisis.
However, the court ruled that the payout - £9.5 million in cash plus a £1.5 million home in South Africa - should stand as "natural price fluctuation" in share values did not warrant changing the figure.

Mr Myerson's fate in the UK contrasted with the experience of actor John Cleese in the US recently.
The Fawlty Towers star saw his divorce settlement to his ex-wife halved from the original figure after the credit crunch hit his property investment interests.
