Motor racing head facing record payout
Bernie Ecclestone could be facing a world record divorce settlement after his wife Slavica was granted a decree nisi in the high court.
The Formula One boss, who did not attend the hearing, could face losing a large part of his £2.4 billion fortune after a judge agreed to Mrs Ecclestone's petition, which was brought on the grounds of unreasonable behaviour.
Former model Mrs Ecclestone and Bernie had been married since the mid-1980s and have two daughters.
Most people facing divorce will not possess similar levels of wealth to the Ecclestone's, which may prompt some to consider the option of a DIY divorce
to avoid the cost of hiring lawyers and amicably decide a financial settlement.
Another well-known couple recently granted a quickie divorce were Eastenders actor Ross Kemp and Sun editor Rebekah Wade, who had been married since 2002.
The pair split on the grounds of Mr Kemp's adultery.
