Little Britain star dissolves civil partnership

Matt Lucas has been granted a dissolution of his civil partnership.

The Little Britain star exchanged vows with television researcher Kevin McGee less than two years ago but they have now separated in what is being described as the first celebrity gay divorce.

Neither of the pair were present in court and the petition, brought by Lucas, was not contested and was granted on grounds of unreasonable behaviour by McGee.

The couple entered into the civil partnership in December 2006 after three years together.

A pantomime-themed reception saw Lucas attend as Aladdin, while McGee was dressed as Prince Charming.

Last week a spokesperson for Madonna confirmed that the singer is to divorce from Guy Ritchie after seven-and-a-half years of marriage.

However a settlement has not been reached, prompting speculation that the couple do not have a prenuptial agreement and Ritchie may be entitled to half of his wife's £300 million estimated worth.
