Mills-McCartney divorce immortalised in new song

Former Beatle Sir Paul McCartney has written a revealing song about the breakdown of his marriage and his subsequent divorce from Heather Mills.

The pop star and the former model married in 2002 but split four years later, blaming media intrusion into their private lives.

A prenuptial agreement had not been signed by the pair and a lengthy battle at the High Court followed, with Mills seeking a £125 million settlement from McCartney.

In March she was awarded a settlement of £24.3 million, consisting of a lump sum of £16.5 million and assets worth £7.8 million.

McCartney has now put pen to paper to write a song about the divorce titled My Soul, on which he collaborates with musician and producer Nitin Sawhney.

"It's very emotional and a very powerful song - not like anything that people are used to Paul McCartney doing," said Sawhney.

The acoustic ballad will appear on Sawhney's new album London Undersound.

Meanwhile, baseball star Alex Rodriguez has insisted he wants the prenuptial agreement signed between him and soon-to-be-ex wife Cynthia Rodriguez to be enforced in court.
