Demand for tenancy agreements continues to grow
by Sarah Ashcroft
There has been an increase in demand for tenancy agreements
in the private-rented sector, research from Paragon shows.
Its Private Rented Sector Trends Report for the third quarter of the year reveals that 44 per cent of landlords have seen tenant demand rise, while 49 per cent expect this trend to continue.
Many landlords may have issued a rent increase notice
over the past few months, as 34 per cent reported that they had seen an increase in income, while four per cent had witnessed a fall.
Chief executive of Paragon Nigel Terrington commented: "More people than ever before are relying on the private-rented sector so it is positive to see that landlords are looking to invest in their portfolios."
He emphasised that the current squeeze on the UK housing market means that these figures are hardly surprising, as many people are unable to afford to get on to the property ladder.
