Benefits of rural locations 'endless'
Living in rural areas offers a wide range of benefits, which may make DIY house selling
easier in such regions.
Jack Neill-Hall, spokesman for the Campaign to Protect Rural England, highlighted that people in remote locations generally enjoy a higher quality of life than city-dwellers.
"The benefits seem quite obvious, cleaner air, access to the beauty and tranquillity of the landscape, a greater sense of community - which is all too often elusive in some urban settings," he commented.
Mr Neill-Hall noted that many people who currently reside in the city dream of being able to move out into the countryside someday.
His comments follow results of the Halifax Rural Areas Quality of Life Survey, which found that South Cambridgeshire is the best place to live in the UK.
The area has a high life expectancy, school performance and the regional climate is amiable, the research showed.
