Now could be the time to sell your own house as more people are showing signs of confidence in the property market.
According to FindaProperty.com, there is now the highest number of houses on the market since January 2008.
The property website also revealed that property asking prices have increased by 1.8 per cent in the past year, so DIY house sellers could get a better deal if they sell now.
Lucian Cook, director at Savills, commented: "Some of the confidence that came back to the market this year has inevitably led people to bring stock to the market in the expectation that they are more likely to achieve a sale."
However, the expert predicted that prices may fall as the number of houses on the market increases against the number of people looking for properties.
According to Land Registry figures, house prices increased by 0.2 per cent between March and April and rose annually by 8.5 per cent.
Now, the average house property is £165,596.
