Those investing in buy to let should not just concentrate on the price, it has been advised.
Manager at buy-to-let mortgages firm Clarity Commercial, Chris Jenkins commented that buyers should consider issues such as rental returns and the availability of finance before looking to part with their money.
He also said matters like location should be considered, with due diligence being essential before any transaction is confirmed.
"Buy-to-let properties are an excellent long-term investment provided that the investor buys correctly," Mr Jenkins stated.
Data from the Association of Residential Lettings Agents' first quarter 2009 survey of its members revealed that landlords were buying more properties than they were selling for the first time in two years.
