More first time buyers entering the market

There may be some good news if you are looking to sell your own home as it has been reported that the number of first time buyers entering the market is increasing.

It was discovered by the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) that from October to November the percentage of first time buyers rose for the third month in a row to 10.4 per cent.

Chris Brown, president of the NAEA, said: "The demand for property is there - so in 2009 we need political will, professional integrity and financial commitments."

He also added that for "tens of thousands of people", their New Year's Resolution will be to get onto the property ladder.

Those who are considering selling their own home may find that they can save themselves money by doing a bit of DIY house selling instead of going to an agent.
