More people 'interested in buying homes' in UK

If you are looking to sell your own home, then you may be pleased to learn that more people are now looking to purchase homes in the UK.

According to the Daily Mail, for the first time in two years the number of people registering an interest in buying a home has taken a positive turn.

This could be good news for anyone considering DIY house selling as it may not take them as long to find a buyer for their property.

Jeremy Leaf, from the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, said: "Many are starting to see the current market as an opportunity to purchase a previously unaffordable property despite the worsening economic picture."

The Rightmove House Price Index from November 2008 found that the average asking price for a property is £222,979, a drop of 7.1 per cent when compared to the same time last year.
