Correct property pricing "vital" to selling a home

Anyone thinking about DIY house selling may want to heed advice from one expert who claims that it is "vital" to price properties correctly if you want to be successful in selling your own home.

Michael O'Flynn, content editor at FindaProperty.com, said that competitive pricing is essential in a difficult market.

He also furthered that sellers would not lose out by lowering prices as they could then regain money on any property they chose to purchase.

Mr O'Flynn commented: "It's a difficult message for sellers to hear, but the bottom line is that this is a buyers' market. If you are serious about selling you have to price competitively."

According to Hometrack, house prices fell by 1.3 per cent in October compared to the previous month. When the figures for the same time in 2007 were examined, prices were found to have fallen by 7.3 per cent this year.
