Rental income continues to rise
by Daniel Jones
Many landlords may have presented their tenants with a rent increase notice
during the third quarter of the year, as figures show a third have seen their income rise.
Paragon found that 34 per cent of landlords have increased rent levels across their property portfolio, compared to 29 per cent in the second quarter of the year.
Just over ten per cent said their income had risen between two and four per cent, while 13 per cent have seen increases above this level.
Only four per cent of the landlords questioned had experienced a decline in rental income.
Nigel Terrington, chief executive of Paragon, predicted: "With tenant demand only looking to increase further in the coming months, landlords are likely to continue to experience increases in their rental income."
He added that 49 per cent of landlords believe they will be demanding a further increase at some point over the next 12 months.
