Brits are keen to move house, poll shows

There may be a rise in the number of for sale boards going up all over the UK, as a new study shows that around a third (30 per cent) of people are hoping to move in 2011.

Clydesdale & Yorkshire Banks revealed that this figure has increased significantly since the height of the recession, when just nine per cent revealed that they wanted to relocate.

Steve Reid, retail director for the banks, commented: "It's understandable that many people will have put off moving in the last couple of years so the potential demand is there."

He emphasised that for many buyers, the market conditions will have to be just right in order for them to move elsewhere.

Similar findings were recently reported by the National Association of Estate Agents, which said that the property market is starting to pick up, especially now that bad weather which typified the end of last year has subsided.
