When to serve the section 33 notice form

This section 33 notice template can be used by a landlord wanting to give notice to terminate a tenancy agreement at the end of a Short Assured Tenancy (SAT) in Scotland, under the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988. 

To legally give notice to terminate a Short Assured Tenancy Agreement in Scotland at the end of the tenancy agreement the landlord must give a Section 33 Notice form and Notice to Quit to their tenant. 

Under the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988, the landlord must give the tenant at least two months' notice.

When this section 33 notice template can be used

This section 33 notice template can be used by a landlord to give notice to terminate a Short Assured Tenancy (SAT) in Scotland, under the Housing (Scotland) Act 1988. 

This Section 33 Notice and Notice to Quit form can be used to give notice to terminate a tenancy agreement made using the following Lawpack tenancy agreements:

• Tenancy Agreement - Furnished (Scotland)
• Tenancy Agreement - Unfurnished (Scotland) 
• Tenancy Agreement for a Room (Scotland)

When this section 33 notice form cannot be used

Please be aware that this Section 21 Notice and Notice to Quit download can not be used to give notice to terminate an Assured Shorthold Tenancy Agreement (in England & Wales) or a Lodger Agreement.
