Prenups not just for the rich and famous
Drawing up a prenuptial agreement
is not something that is reserved for the rich and famous, as everyday couples could find there are benefits in doing so.
It is essential, however, that both parties agree to the terms laid out in the text and will uphold them if the marriage does break down.
Changing family circumstances may make prenuptial agreements more relevant to some people than others, as they are especially useful when a parent has remarried and had more children.
Furthermore, family law
experts advise that such documents may be useful when there are sizeable assets to be divided, which may include real estate or even a business.
In a recent article for the Associated Press, a number of legal experts suggested that Prince William and Kate Middleton should have a prenuptial agreement
However, it is widely reported that the couple decided not to do so.
