A prenuptial agreement signed overseas may not be applicable under UK law if a German heiress wins a case in the British courts against her French ex-husband.
Katrin Radmacher, who has an estimated £100 million fortune, has gone to court to attempt to have the prenuptial agreement she drew up with ex-husband Nicolas Granatino in Germany ruled inapplicable in the UK.
Should she win the case, it would prevent Mr Granatino having any claim on her wealth and may also affect some couples in the UK with prenup arrangements.
